An insider has revealed that Cirque Lodge doesn’t treat patients suffering from depression alone, casting doubts on actress Kirsten Dunst having claimed she went there to seek treatment for the condition, starmagazine.com reports.

Dunst had also denied she was being treated for a drug or alcohol problem.

“I went there for depression ... I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself,” Dunst said.

According to the insider, however, patients at the Sundance, Utah, facility, must have some kind of chemical dependency.

“They would refer you somewhere else if it’s just depression,” the insider explained.

Actress Kirsten Dunst is clearing up the reason she went into rehab earlier this year.

Dunst told E! Online that it was for depression and not for alcohol or drugs.

The "Spider-Man" movie co-star said she was "struggling" and took the time to take care of herself at the noted private rehab facility, the Cirque Lodge in Utah.

"I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn't know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge," Dunst told E!

Dunst, 26, said she's now ready to talk about her problem because she feels stronger in the face of rampant media speculation.

"There's been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life, and it's been very painful for my friends and family," Dunst told E! "Everyone feels like they have to defend me. They hear the rumors, and it puts them in a defensive position. Now that I'm feeling stronger, I was prepared to say something."

She told the E! that being a celebrity doesn't exempt her from problems like depression.

Just five weeks after her stint in rehab, actress Kirsten Dunst is reportedly losing her battle with an alcohol addiction.

The 26-year-old star of Marie Antoinette and Spider-man was admitted to Cirque Lodge, a high end rehab facility, after a heavy week of partying at Sundance Film Festival in Utah more than two months ago. The move came after an intervention with Dunst’s family and friends.

But while everything seemed to go according to plan, during a break from filming, in order to celebrate her birthday, Dunst was seen drinking and dancing in a local bar in New York City with several friends. One of which, according to IMDb, was The Strokes’ drummer Fabrizio Moretti (who dated Drew Barrymore for more than three years).

“She got worse as the night went on,” a source told Star magazine. “She started out pretty chill, but hours later she was dancing and jumping like a crazed animal. She indulged in any guy who would have her attention. It’s obvious that whatever happened in rehab didn’t stick.”

LOS ANGELES - They’ve opened the movie around the world and now the stars of “Iron Man” are gearing up for the film’s US release, this Friday.

The summer’s first potential blockbuster stars Robert Downey Jr. as the Iron Man, and drama-film darling Gwyneth Paltrow as his love interest, Christine Everhart. Taking on the role puts Paltrow in some illustrious company – Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Kirsten Dunst and Kate Bosworth, all of whom have played superhero leading ladies.

While the part is something new for Paltrow, she was convinced to take it on after her leading man suggested she break out of the art film market.

”(Robert) was very sweet when he called me, and I think we had both kind of been doing these kind of labor of love art films that had been seen by like 16 people, and he said to me ‘Don’t you wanna be in a movie that people actually see?’” Paltrow recounted. “And I thought ‘I never thought of that!’ So, I’m really, really glad that I did it.”

Thanks to the joys Paltrow experienced making the film and the enthusiasm already surrounding it, she is looking forward to, perhaps, a sequel.
